The Aln Valley Railway has a new steam locomotive.

Owned by Stephen Wood, in Scotland, it formerly worked at the Strathspey Railway at Aviemore, in the Highlands, but will now be based at Lionheart, Alnwick.

Originally, it was owned by the National Coal Board and worked at pits in County Durham, before being sold for preservation.

It was steamed at Lionheart for the first time over the Easter weekend and will share passenger train duties with the steam locomotive Richboro.
