I WOULD like to extend a huge thank-you to everyone who took part in this year's Amble Christmas Lights Parade. It was a fabulous night and a great turn-out from the community.
In particular, congratulations are due to the Amble Christmas Lights Committee, a small group of dedicated volunteers, who put a lot of hard work and their spare time into this event – without these people, there could be no lights.
Congratulation
s also to the Coquet Extended Partnership, who were responsible for organising workshops in schools to enable local children to create their own lanterns for the parade – it was a fabulous turn-out, they all looked spectacular and I'm sure everyone enjoyed it.
Thanks also to the Amble Coastguards and members of the Amble and Warkworth Round Table. Also, thanks to Amble and Warkworth Rotary Club for all their help and a fabulous new sleigh this year – we wish you luck with your Christmas collections, (starting on December 15, in Amble).
The street collections raised over £240 this year, and this will be donated to help towards the costs of the Christmas lights.
Thank you to Stan Iredale for providing the PA system and Tony Allan for helping with the Golden Coach.
PARRT raised £204 at their stall for the animal rescue charity. RNLI also had a successful night raising money for the Lifeboats.
Children's rides were provided by Funworld Amusements and carol singing was provided by St Cuthbert's Church choir. A young band from Coquet High School played a fabulous set also, so thanks to those guys too.
On behalf of Amble Development Trust, we wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Project Officer,
Amble Development Trust
l AS secretary of the Amble Christmas Lights, I would like to thank sincerely all the many people of Amble who have once again given Amble a display to be proud of.
To the small group of men who work all year round checking, preparing and renewing the displays; to all the lads I can rely on year after year who turn out in all weather to put them up; to Peter from Stewarts Skips, Amble, and Russell at Amble Development Trust who provide the transport and work hard all day supporting the team.
I know they would all like to thank Sharon at the Dock Hotel for feeding them on the day. As usual a spread fit for a king.
The procession! What can I say? Thanks to Louise at the Development Trust who organised it all. Thank you for all your hard work. It gets bigger and better every year. It was truly a day to remember.
Last, but not least, to the community for all their financial support. Each year, it gets more expensive and as we have no funding we rely on your generosity. A grateful thanks to you all.

l PLEASE express our thanks to all the mothers and toddlers at our Friday morning group at The Lion's Den children's play area, who helped raise £61 towards Children in Need, and to the children who entered our drawing competition.
