NORTHUMBERLAND County Council is appealing for people to be a child's superhero by adopting a school-age youngster.
The appeal comes duirng National Adoption Week, a campaign to find families for up to 4,000 children across the UK.
Coun Simon Reed, executive member for children's services, said: "Our children who need a permanent family have hopes and dreams of becoming superheroes, fire fighters or astronauts like the next school child. But most of all they need unconditional love and a stable life. We are asking for people to come forward and help our children realise their dreams of being part of a family."
Northumberland adopters receive continued support and training. For more information, call the Adoption Team on 01670 534450, or email familyplacement@northumberland.gov.uk
