STUDENT singer Claire McKenna will be back on familiar ground for a song recital.
Claire, who started her singing studies in Lesbury, is coming back to her home village on Bank Holiday Monday to give a song recital, accompanied by Scott Grey.
Claire is now being taught by Teresa Cahill and Alistair Young at Trinity College London.
She won a very prestigious award given by the Worshipful Company of Musicians Allcard Award, competing against all the top music colleges in the UK.
Although still a student she has a wealth of experience, including stage roles in Le Nozze di Figaro and West Side Story, solo performances and others including Stravinsky's Les Noces with the Michael Clark Company at the Barbican Theatre.
The sound she makes is exciting and vibrant, the sort of voice that makes the hair stand on the back of your necks.
The August 25 recital starts at 7.30pm in Lesbury Church, admission £6.
