RESIDENTS and business people in Wooler are being invited to have their say on plans for the future use of a former shop.
Glendale Gateway Trust is seeking views on what to convert the former Co-op at 31 High Street into.
It bought the shop, which closed in 2006, earlier this year.
In June, the trust began a series of workshops, hosted by Social Enterprise Northumberl
and, designed to find the best solutions for the use of the building in the future.
The initial ideas from the event include retail, community space, office and work space units and possibly social housing.
These are to go out to consultation next week.
A consultation meeting on the possible options with the Wooler Traders Association will be held on Monday at 5.30pm in the Cheviot Centre. All business people are welcome. A public consultation exercise will begin on Tuesday.
Two drop-in sessions will take place at the centre's foyer on Tuesday between 10am and noon and on Wednesday between 2pm and 4pm.
A member of the trust's staff will be available to discuss the options and any further ideas.
If people are not able to make these times, the options will be on display in the foyer until Friday, August 29, and there will be a comments box for ideas.
The trust plans to develop the ideas through to the end of the year and hope that building work will start next spring.
For further information on the consultation contact Neil Wilson at the trust on 01668 282412.
