BOWLERS in Seahouses have put their best foot forward for charity and raised vital funds for two good causes.
The village's Outdoor Bowling Club held its annual competition and presentation of prizes at Seahouses Sports and Community Centre.
And benefiting were Seahouses Cancer Support and Relief Fund, and the Seahouses Ambulance First Responders Group, whi
ch both received substantial cheques at the presentation.
First responders spokesman Ian Clayton said: "Once again we have been lucky enough to receive this generous donation, which will be put to good use by our group, which relies solely on public donations, receiving no financial support from the NHS.
"We are delighted to receive this cheque, and the support of the club to help us continue our work."
So far this year, the group has answered 75 emergency call outs in and around the Seahouses, Beadnell and Bamburgh areas.
First responders are trained and deployed by the Ambulance Service, if appropriate, on receipt of a 999 call.
They are trained to provide basic pre Hospital Trauma Life Support, till the arrival of the Paramedic Ambulance Crew, with their advanced professional life saving skills, and carry an array of medical equipment.
Anyone wanting more information can leave their details at North Sunderland and Seahouses Develeopment Trust on 01665 721868, and a member of the team will make contact.
