POLICE are vowing to step-up patrols in a north Northumberland village after an outburst of anti-social behaviour.
Inspector Sue Peart has warned that police will be patrolling Shilbottle to nip any bad behaviour in the bud.
It follows reports of disorder around the village, including a youth who smashed two pains of glass in a derelict building on Monday. He was arrested and cautioned.
Inspector Peart said: "This kind of behaviour in Shilbottle was a problem that was raised by the Police and Community Priority Setting Group in the summer.
"We put a concentrated watch in the village for a three month period and it seemed to resolve the issue of anti-social behaviour.
"But we are concerned that this latest episode might lead to that sort of behaviour picking up again so we are going to tackle this at an early stage."
She said that community safety officers and neighbourhood beat mangers would be patrolling the area.
