WOOLER Bowling Club were hosts to the annual fixture of the North Northumberland League v the County HVPs.
A great day's bowling was had and a rink from each of the six clubs in the NNL put on a reasonable show against strong opposition losing 118 shots to 93.

The highest rink for the NNL was the Alnwick four, skipped by Russ Dale. Keith skipped the HVPs' highest rink.

In the league, Amble ran out the winners thanks to a 23-12 win by Doug Mossman's rink.

Playing at home against Alnwick, Amble did not have it all their own way, losing 4-2 in general play and scraping in by three shots to make it 4-4 by gaining the bonus points.

Seahouses, home to Lesbury, dragged themselves out of bottom place, winning 6-2 with the bonus.

Wooler, home to Rothbury, won 6-2 thanks to a one shot difference in the game 45-44 which gave them the two bonus points.
