NORTHERN ALLIANCE
DIVISION TWO

Amble Utd 4
Benfield Chemfica 0
AMBLE played hosts to Benfield Chemfica at the Running Track pitch to play the first match of the new season.

It was the visitors who got the match under way but it was Amble who started to play the better football.

They had several chances to
take the lead and very nearly did so in the 20th minute when Darren Riddell fired in a good shot which hit the post and came straight back into the keeper's arms.

They did take the lead in the 29th minute when Darren Riddell headed home from a corner kick and just a minute had passed when Amble went two up when Chris Glass had a good run down the right hand side losing his defender and put his shot into the top left hand corner of the net, giving the visitors keeper Peter Holland no chance.

It was all Amble after this with Ross Stewart in the home goal having very little to do and at half time it was 2-0 to Amble.

After the interval it was Amble who kicked off and straight away were playing some good football creating some good chances, but could not increase their lead.

The visitors also had a few good chances but they also just could not find the net, and it was Amble who increased their lead in the 52nd minute when Ross Gair found Shaun Black wide on the right for Shaun to run on and cross a good ball for Darren Riddell to slot home for his second.

Amble were now playing some very good football and were creating some very good chances but did not score again until the 85th minute when Michael Dance fired home a very good shot to find the bottom right and corner of the net to make the final score 4-0 to Amble and a very good start for the new manager Paul Brennan.
