Kaims Country Park North Northumberland Golf League
ALNWICK cut Bamburgh's lead to just three points after round 13 of the Kaims Country Park North Northumberland Golf League matchplay championship and could take the battle for the title right to the wire.

They made up three points on the leaders
by winning 11-1 at Belford while Bamburgh won 8-4 at Rothbury, the home side staving off what could have been a heavy defeat by winning the final two games.

Third-placed Berwick A maintained their outside chance of taking the title following a 10-2 home victory over Alnmouth Village.

But at the end of the night they still trailed Bamburgh by nine points and Alnwick by six and clearly have it all to do to overtake their rivals.

The top teams all have three games to play.

Last year's champions Linden Hall, fielding a much-changed team, had probably their best win of the season, beating Magdalene Fields B 11-1 to go fourth in the table ahead of Alnmouth who continued their winning run, defeating Seahouses 10-2 over the Foxton Hall course.
